Introduction to The Trio: Jasper, Summer and Dak (The Trio) have developed a reality television show named â€Å"Stuck†. It centres on love, university and the dramas it all encompasses, with two main people being Rose and Austin. The show will air every Monday night at 8:00pm till 9:00pm. This creative idea exists with the hope that it will grow largely popular with their target audience, which are adolescents generally between the ages of 14 and 23. It is my highly important job as manager to consider different avenues within the creative industries to find the best solution in protection The Trio’s creative property. I will analyse aspects intellectual property and creative commons and report back to The Trio with what option is best for them in protecting their television show. Intellectual property: â€Å"Intellectual property law is that area of law which concerns legal rights associated with creative effort or commercial reputation and goodwill† (Bainbridge, 2006, p. 03). The law exists to discourage others taking unfair advantage or copying the creative work of another person or group (Bainbridge, 2006). A country’s system of intellectual property rights has set standards to establish a creator’s rights, in order to prevent others from exploiting the economic value of their artistic endeavors, and have actions in place if the exploitation were to occur (Maskus, 2000).
